In a current bachelor thesis we are exploring the features of different Social Media Monitoring tools, which we then will apply to a number of brands and products in the 2011 christmas season. Our goal is to find free and paid tools that could be used for small and medium enterprises to be part of the social media startegy. So far we plan to compare and evaluate
- Social Mention
- Google Alerts
- Twitter Alerts
- Addictomatic
- Board Tracker
- Keotag
- Kurrently
- Topsy
- Twoolr
- Paper.li
- Sysomos
- Radian6
- Klout
- Attensity360
- Tweetfell
- Context Sense
- Rank Speed
- Brand Monitor
- Trackur
However, we are looking for more tools to be part of our analysis. The only restriction is that the tool should be able to monitor Social Media and to provide analytical features that can be used as input for decision support. Can you help us in suggesting more tools (incl. links)?

After yesterday’s announcement of Twitter Web Analytics this is another source for social media monitoring. https://dev.twitter.com/blog/introducing-twitter-web-analytics

Hi Wolfgang
I’d like to suggest taking a look at Brandwatch (http://brandwatch.com) – we usually rank up there with the best!
Thanks

Oliver blogged about his first impression of Brandwatch (in German) here. Hopefully they will provide us with an account for 4 test weeks…
